The Altama Museum of Art and History The Altama Museum collection is housed in the
neoclassic-style Brazell House, which was built in 1911 and is listed in
the National Register of Historic Places. The Museum’s permanent
collection includes the Norma Damon Libby Collection of Stafford shire
porcelain, one of the largest collections in the country on public display
with over 260 pieces and approximately 210 different patterns represented The Cooper-Conner House The Cooper Conner House is the oldest house in
Montgomery County. Slave labor was used in the construction by Richard
Cooper, who is one of the Revolutionary soldiers buried at Dead River Cemetery. The house was moved to the Brewton-Parker College Campus in
1991 for preservation and is furnished with period furniture. Annually,
local historians and friends of the college open the historic site to
the public. Often in conjunction with Alumni Day at Brewton-Parker
College, activities such as soap making, syrup boiling, can grinding,
and open-fire baking take place at the Cooper-Conner House. On these
special occasions, period costumes are styles of the day, and music is a
featured attraction. The Ladson Genealogical Library: This spectacular library, housing over 30,000 books

southeastern United States. The library is open to the public Monday
through Saturday. Friendly staff members are available to advise you on
your research. Ohoopee Regional Arts Council The Ohoopee Regional Arts Council features
world-class performances throughout the year as well as performances of
